Childcare and Early Education. -
A Typical Day

Typically, children will start to arrive shortly after 7:30am at which point a full range of healthy breakfast options available.

Following breakfast, a range of activities  planned for children to enjoy. This includes individual 'next step' activities, group activities (such cookery), trips out to parks and other local amenities and visits to sure-start centres for play sessions. An appropriate element of time is devoted each day to child-led play, with a wide range of toys, games, puzzles and books available to support learning and development across the curriculum.

Activities are very carefully tailored to each child's individual needs. Detailed planning ensures that the daily range of activities cover all areas of the EYFS and an appropriate balance across the curriculum is achieved.

Lunch is eaten together during which time table manners are re-enforced . A full and balanced healthy home cooked meal is freshly provided .During meals children are taught about the importance of keeping healthy and making "Healthy choices".

After lunch, children enjoy music and rhyme time and story time on the carpet before quiet time, during which children can either relax if necessary take a nap.

Afternoon play is generally child-led and time is spent in the garden at this point every day (weather permitting).

Daily circle time, gives children the opportunity to learn to speak in a group and learn many social skills. Once a week children have the opportunity to join in a"Show and tell" session.

Supper is served at the table in a relaxed manner, after which free play is available until collection time by parents or carers. Older children at this point complete homework, play in the garden, join in board games or complete maths and literacy activities under supervision.
